Warranty Policy

Last Updated: July 2026

1. Our Commitment

At Smart Repairs Ayr, we take pride in the quality of our workmanship and use professional repair methods and materials to achieve the highest possible standard.

This Warranty Policy explains what is covered by our workmanship warranty and the circumstances where the warranty does not apply.

This warranty is provided in addition to your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

2. Warranty Period

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, we provide a 6-month workmanship warranty from the date your repair is completed.

If a different warranty period applies to your repair, it will be stated on your invoice, quotation or repair documentation.

3. What Is Covered

Our warranty covers defects that arise as a direct result of our workmanship during the warranty period.

Subject to inspection, this may include:

  • Failure of paint applied during our repair.
  • Peeling, blistering or flaking caused by defective workmanship.
  • Poor adhesion of repaired paintwork.
  • Faults directly relating to our repair process.
  • Defects in body repairs carried out by us.

If we accept that a warranty claim is valid, we will repair the affected area at no additional labour charge.

4. What Is Not Covered

Our warranty does not cover damage or defects resulting from:

  • Stone chips.
  • Road debris.
  • Accidents or collisions.
  • Scratches, dents or impact damage after the repair.
  • Repairs carried out to areas affected by corrosion are not covered under our warranty. Corrosion is a progressive condition and may reappear over time, regardless of the quality of the repair. The rate corrosion returns cannot be predicted- it may reoccur within weeks, months or even years – no warranty is provided for repairs involving corrosion.
  • Poor previous repairs completed by another repairer.
  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Chemical damage, bird droppings, tree sap or environmental contamination.
  • Pressure washing too close to freshly repaired paintwork.
  • Failure to properly care for the repaired area.
  • Customer-supplied parts or materials.
  • Repairs or alterations carried out by another person after our repair.
5. Paint Colour Matching

We use professional colour matching systems to achieve the closest possible match to your vehicle.

Due to vehicle age, weathering, fading, previous repairs and manufacturing variations, an exact colour match cannot always be guaranteed.

Minor colour variation under different lighting conditions does not necessarily indicate a warranty defect.

6. Caring for Your Repair

To help protect your repair, we recommend that you:

  • Avoid washing the repaired area for at least seven days unless advised otherwise.
  • Avoid machine polishing or waxing for approximately 30 days.
  • Remove bird droppings, tree sap and other contaminants as soon as possible.
  • Wash your vehicle using suitable automotive cleaning products.
7. Making a Warranty Claim

If you believe there is a problem covered by this warranty, please contact us as soon as possible.

Please provide:

  • Your name.
  • Vehicle registration.
  • Date of repair.
  • Invoice number, if available.
  • A description of the issue.
  • Photographs where possible.
8. Vehicle Inspection

The vehicle must be returned to Smart Repairs Ayr for inspection before any warranty work can be authorised.

We reserve the right to inspect the repair and determine whether the issue falls within the terms of this warranty.

Repairs carried out elsewhere without our prior written agreement may invalidate this warranty.

9. Warranty Remedy

If a valid warranty claim is accepted, we will, at our discretion:

  • Repair the affected area.
  • Repaint the affected area where necessary.
  • Rectify the workmanship defect at no additional labour cost.

The warranty applies only to the original repair completed by Smart Repairs Ayr and does not extend the original warranty period.

10. Your Consumer Rights

This Warranty Policy is provided in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable legislation.

11. Contact Us
